Course Details
This one-year course will equip would-be and existing producers and directors with all the necessary creative, technical and business skills to work in the global television arena. The emphasis is on learning by doing it.
That means identifying and exploring funding opportunities, mastering the mechanics of the international co-production market from editorial and business perspectives; understanding the editorial "consensus" for successful international production; gaining a thorough grasp of multi media rights issues and developing the skills to negotiate with broadcasters around the world - from an editorial and financial point of view.
All this in a professional environment working with creative programme makers, supportive personal mentors and experienced teaching staff.
The course is ideally suited to; members of independent production companies in the UK and abroad who want to learn how to compete in the international marketplace; legal , financial and production managers working outside television who would welcome an opportunity to blend their existing skills with new found knowledge and attributes arising from the course- in the world of television.
It is also suitable for recent graduates from media and related courses wishing to enhance their all-round production, editorial and business skills prior to seeking employment in the television industry.
