Course Details

BA (Hons) Journalism and English Literature is part of our Combined Honours programme, our flexible mode of study. Subject Journalism teaches you the work skills and thought processes of the journalist. These skills are valuable for both journalism and non-journalism careers.

If you are interested in studying literary texts within their wider cultural contexts then
this course may be the right one for you.

Journalism and English Literature will also be of interest if you intend to go into teaching or further study, or if you want a qualification appropriate for a number of different careers.

Simon Kelner addresses students and staff

Simon Kelner launches Journalism Society

Tales of how toothpaste inspired a newspaper revolution entertained journalism students in Preston on February 8 as Simon Kelner became their patron.
 
Mr Kelner, editor in chief of The Independent, learned his journalism at the former Preston Polytechnic, now the University of Central Lancashire. He is patron of the newly formed Journalism Society, representing 530 undergraduate and postgraduate students.
