Theatre

Right in the centre of the city is Preston's famous Guild Hall and Charter Theatre. Throughout the year there is something for everyone in the Guild Hall, from orchestral and rock concerts and major televised sport, to theatrical productions of every kind in the Charter Theatre.

Widely considered to be finest entertainment centres in the country, the Guild Hall and Charter Theatre has recently been given a £4 million makeover thanks to a National Lottery award.

This has seen the ageing venue transformed with new seating, carpeting and decoration, a wide range of technical improvements and redesign of public areas.

The long list of star names to have appeared at the Guild Hall represents an impressive roll-call of some of the greatest names in show business.

And in addition to its live concerts and major sporting events such as the UK Snooker Championships and World Indoor Bowls major televised sport, the Guild Hall also hosts conferences, exhibitions and celebration banquets.

And to top it all off, you can get a discount on many productions or events at the venue with your Student card.
