Praise for International Journalism courses
By UKJournalism
The Department of Journalismís new international journalism programmes have been praised as being ëinnovative, exciting and timelyí.
These comments were made when MA International Journalism, and BA (Hons) International Journalism, were validated by the University of Central Lancashire.
This was the conclusion of a rigorous and formal process of approval, which included external journalism and academic experts.
The MA course team is now making advanced preparations for the course that starts this September. The Department of Journalismís team of experienced lecturers is being reinforced by the recruitment of new staff with expertise in journalism and research in the international arena.
Continue to apply
Because of the newness of the courses the department has decided to keep them open for admissions until late August, so potential students can continue to apply until then.
The courses have already attracted a wide range of students from regions including Asia, Africa and Europe, as well as the UK.
Course leader for the new programmes is Geoff Ward, the departmentís international journalism co-ordinator.
Fantastic opportunities
He said: "We are delighted with the way the new courses have been developed. They offer fantastic opportunities for students who wish to engage with journalism from international perspectives.
"We have been very impressed with the response to this initiative from would-be students and also from universities and academics in many areas of the world who are interested in working in collaboration with us."
