Post Grad student lands Rock FM job

A postgraduate broadcast journalism student has been offered a job at Preston's top local radio station.
Hannah Lomas said she "jumped at the chance" when she landed a job at popular commercial radio station Rock FM
"I knew from the moment I walked into the office I wanted to work there and I am really excited and keen to get started. Rock FM will provide me with excellent experience and Preston will be a good area to work in."
Hannah admitted she was nervous about her interview and couldnít quite believe her luck when she was told she had got the job.
Intense
She said: "The interview process was intense and the wait after felt like a very long time so it was great to be offered the job at the end of it all."
Hannah spent a year working at ëThe Revolutioní a radio station in Oldham, and completed a degree in Media and Cultural studies in Manchester before she joined the postgraduate course. Even though she already had experience she thought it was important to gain an extra qualification.
She said: ìI wanted to be a well rounded journalist and be clued up on the legal side of things. Plus I knew I was being trained by the best people.î
Hannah will complete a weekís work experience at Granada Television before starting at Rock FM, and says she is keeping her options open as to where her future career aspirations lie.
ìI have no definite plans and am quite happy to just enjoy my job and see where it takes me.î She added: ìI set my sights on Rock FM and got there, so I will focus on one goal at a time.î
