Internationally known visual editor joins Leaders Programme
By UK Journalism

An internationally recognised visual editor has joined the Journalism Leaders team at UCLan.
Robb Montgomery, the founder of Visual Editors.com and the former News Design Editor at the Chicago Sun-Times, has joined the network of professionals and academics on the programme.
He will start by leading a session during a four day Journalism and the Market seminar entitled ́Promotions that connect: Case studies of how the Toronto Sun and Chicago Sun-Times use guerrilla marketing techniques to find new readers and strengthen their brands.î
Historic crossroads
Robb said: ́I am honoured to join this excellent group of discussion leaders at UCLan. Journalism and professional training is at an historic crossroads. Together we are crossing the transom from print to digital: from static to dynamic and from passive to interactive.î
He joins an already impressive line up for the event that is led by international marketing and advertising expert Jeanne Hill, Principal Lecturer in Marketing at the Lancashire Business School.
Other discussion leaders include the Vice President for Research for online intelligence company Hitwise, Heather Hopkins, Mark Tungate who is a Paris based journalist and television presenter, Editor of the Lancashire Evening Post, Simon Reynolds, Journalist and media consultant Jeff Kaye and Programme Director Francois Nel.
Robb Montgomery added: ́The Leadership Programme is certainly ahead of the curve in providing training for media executives who will navigate the future.î
For more details about the seminar, which runs from February 5-8th in Preston, visit the Journalism Leaders Programme website. Included in the programme is the Journalism Leaders Forum ́Media Mashups! How Traditional Media Brands Survive and Thrive in a Widely Wired World,î which will be chaired by Mark Tungate.
