UCLan student Louise grabs a photo of Daniel Craig at the Premier of Flashbacks of a Fool

A student had the red carpet treatment when she interviewed James Bond star Daniel Craig at the premier of his new film Flashbacks of a Fool.

Third year magazine student Louise Steggals grabbed a few minutes with the film star to quiz him about his role in the low budget British film written by his friend Baillie Walsh.

She said: “I asked Daniel how easy it would be for him to become like his character in the film who is an aging actor that becomes disillusioned with Hollywood and returns to his English home after his best friend dies.

“Daniel was very polite and charming but also quite reserved and there were no Bond questions allowed” she added.

Louise is no stranger to interviewing A-list film stars and has already met John Cusack and Hilary Swank at film premiers through her role as a writer for film website The Void.

London Film Festival

She has written for the website since last October and Louise’s first job was to cover the London Film Festival.

Louise Steggals She said: “It was lots of fun and it was great having breakfast meetings with film directors and interviewing celebrities on the red carpet. I even made Hilary Swank laugh with a bad joke I made!”

Louise plans to use the high profile interview to her advantage and include it in the magazine that she’s making as part of a group for her course.

She added: “Our magazine is called Life Begins and targets guys in their 40’s. We have to create the launch issue and Daniel Craig is a good icon for our target audience. Most men would love to be James Bond so he is definitely going on the front cover.”
